We’ve all seen dogs that cower in the presence of humans. When called, they approach with head lowered, ears drooping, sad eyes, and the tail tucked between their hind legs. Often they squat and urinate when called. It’s difficult, even sad, to look at these dogs who exhibit such a total lack of self-confidence.

Every pet owner has at least one story to tell about the new puppy that “stole” the ham sandwich from off the picnic table, or stole his owner’s car keys and hid them in its bed. These stories are amusing, even endearing; but, the problem can be annoying and the behavior should be stopped.

Your puppy needs to know how to behave around other people regardless of what kind of life you lead. As most puppies naturally tend to get more introverted as they grow older they need to learn to be with people and enjoy being with them whilst they are at a young age. Puppies need good, well balanced experiences in order to cope with different situations with different people.
