While there are many dogs up you can take home, most of which can be found in public shelters, it is highly recommended that you choose one that is still young – a puppy. This way, you won’t have a hard time getting your dog adjust to his new surroundings, and you can have a lot of time getting to know him, as opposed to old dogs that are too stubborn to adapt to unfamiliar territories and have only a few years left in his life.
